When Apocalypse, Dr. Doom, and Dormammu joined force all hope seemed to be lost in the world of Marvel. While the heroes of the galaxy joined forces to take the trio out, a world was slowly merging with theirs. A world they were quite familiar with. Before they knew what was happening, millions of lives were lost and several cities demolished in the merging. Finally realizing the devastation happening around them, the citizens of the Marvel galaxy turned their attention away from the three and onto the merging.
A nearly identical devastation was happening in the universe of Capcom. Three villains had aligned themselves together. Their names were Albert Wesker, M. Bison, and Sigma. Just as those in Marvel, the heroes joined together to get rid of the three. The majority of the destruction was not caused by the villains, but by the merging of their world to Marvel's. Those in Capcom noticed the destruction much sooner than those in Marvel, but it was much too late to stop the mayhem that had happened. All attention to the villains was lost and all went to the merging.
What had happened to the villains, though?
All of them knew that with their focus off of them they could easily take the worlds for themselves. A new alliance was formed between them, and they set off to conquer what they believed was theirs. Each fought with the weakened heroes, and nearly gained a victory. With in months, the villains would've easily defeated the heroes. They didn't. Something had stopped the merging and allowed the heroes to devote their time against the six.
People wondered why the merge had ended so suddenly. Both the Marvel and Capcom worlds were together fully, but an apocalyptic outcome did not occur. Those living in the new world lived peacefully as the villains were driven back. All was calm and all villains seemed to be in hiding. The heroes knew it wasn't something that had stopped the merging, but someone.
As the villains begin a new attack, this is still a question in everyone's mind. Who had stopped it?
