Jump City, a nice little place where Kara once lived for a few months after having joined the Teen Titans. Pretty much a short lived gig after a rather nasty dispute between the girl of steel and who she assumed was her best friend, Wonder Girl. Kara pretty much told herself that she'd never, NEVER step foot in the city until the bitch apologized, which she hadn't! BUT, she was killing to make an exception for a certain someone who had caught her eye during her time with the titans.
Tim Drake, the boy wonder, well at least he was. He's not Robin anymore, but he was Red Robin now, which was whatever to Kara because in either costume, he was still sexy. She was thrilled that he was actually willing to take a break from crime fighting gig and just have an evening to relax and actually be normal teenagers. Something told her that wouldn't be the case, but one could hope, right? Kara arrived, stopping about a mile away from Titan's tower and landing onto the fresh blanket of snow on the ground. She was dressed in a white turtle neck and black skirt and pair of black winter boots. Digging into her purse, she pulled out her black berry and flipped it open, dialing Tim's number.
"Hey, I'm outside in the park, about a mile away from your place. Meet me here, I'll be waiting."

Tim Drake, Tim Wayne never really sounding right in his ears despite the fact Bruce was every bit a father to him as his real one had been, was having a rare moment of crisis as he faced off against the image before him. He’d coolly stared down multitudes of back alley crooks, super powered weirdoes, and even the God (or a madman with a god complex), but every time he had to gaze at the current opponent before him he couldn’t help but feel uneasy. He was of course looking at his own reflection, trying to work out what exactly to wear to see Kara. Dating, if it was indeed a date, wasn’t entirely a new concept to the Teen Wonder, he’d dated several girls in the past few years since falling into this world of vigilante justice, but it never got any less nerve wracking for him.
The familiar tone of his mobile distracted him from his near ceaseless readjustments of his clothing, hair, and accessories. Dick had always teased him that he took longer than most women he’d ever dated – not exactly a small number by any regard – to get ready for a date. Grabbing it and flipping it open with one hand, his gaze still running up and down his appearance, checking for any faults.
“Hey, the park? I’ll be there in a bit.”
With a slight sigh he decided that his current attire, a smart casual red shirt and blue jeans would suffice, and quickly bounded out of the Tower. Facing down certain death? Easy. Dating a girl? ... Well, let’s just say he’d rather go with the former question every time. Thinking of the former however caused him to spiral into thinking about his missing mentor. He shouldn’t be dating, he should be searching... Bruce wouldn’t get sidetracked by this, he’d be dedicated.
Any thoughts of guilt quickly fled from his mind as he laid eyes upon the Kryptonian heroine, not to mention practically every other thought – quite some feat considering his overactive brain – and almost caused him to miss a step. “Wow... You just look... Wow...” He paused as his brain mentally slapped itself before managing to kick itself into gear, unfortunately the best he could come up with was: “I mean... Hey, long time!”
Smooth. How did Dick and Bruce ever manage to do this on a regular basis was beyond him.

>>“Hey, the park? I’ll be there in a bit.”
"Alright. See ya then, peace." she said before tucking her phone back into her purse and let out a sigh. Was she on the edge? Well, it's not like its the first time she's ever hung out with him. Why would a date be any different? There was just something about the word that changed everything. It wasn't just going to the movies and dinner with a good friend...it was a date. Or was it? She had never really specified. Before he had even arrived, her super hearing had begun picking up his foot steps and she turned to see him walking. She got a look at what he had on.
"Crap...am I over dressed?" she thought to herself. He was dressed so casual...then again, so was she...but she was kind of dressy, but not really. "Damn it Kara. you're over thinking this. You're fine. Completely fine. And he is fiiiiiiiine..." she coughed as they were facing each other, she shot him a smile.
>>“Wow... You just look... Wow...”
She snickered a bit. Perhaps he was just as nervous as she was...but if he was then that meant maybe it was a D-A-T-E.
>>“I mean... Hey, long time!”
" Hey Tim, good to see you. Looking well....very well" Kara replied tucking her hair behind her ear. "Sucky question, but how have you been? Are you and Cassandra still holding up? Your sister, not that other bit-, girl." she corrected herself. She knew that the Bat clique had taken it pretty hard since Bruce disappeared. She didn't classify him as dead, though her cousin did find his corpse. She had heard from Dick after having becoming the new Batman and joining the League that Tim was still having a hard time accepting their mentor's fate. While Kara partially sided with Dick in thinking Bruce was gone, there was still that little bit of hope that maybe he was still out there, or at least he'll come back. No one really ever stays dead afterall.

Tim cast a quick covert glance over her figure, looking without really looking – a useful skill he’d picked up over the years. She really did look good, really good in fact. Smartly dressed too. Tim had to resist the urge to facepalm at that, had he gone for overly casual? God, he knew he should have grabbed the smart dress shirt... Seriously, why wasn’t there like a Batmanual for dating women? “I, erm, didn’t know what to wear... And... yeah... Should I go back and change? I mean, you’re all, well, looking beautiful and smart - Not that you don't normally - and I’m, well, looking like I’m going to a county fair.” Tim rubbed the nape of his neck as he talked a nervous habit he seemed to have picked up in recent months. The Teen Wonder just knew that Dick and Damian would be laughing if they could see him right now, especially Damian that smug basta... Tim shook his head ruefully and rid himself of that train of thought, instead focusing back on the beautiful girl in front of him rather than the psychopathic mini-Al Ghul that had taken his place.
He frowned lightly at the near slip Kara had regarding Wonder Girl, the strained relationship between the two being no real secret. He wasn’t entirely sure what had led it into being however, but he didn’t really want to get in between the pair over it. Tim Drake might not know as much about women as Bruce or Dick, but he knew enough that getting in between them and whatever argument they shared was paramount to suicide. “Ahhh, she’s doing fine I guess...” Tim scratched the side of his cheek awkwardly, and opted to answer for more of his sister than of himself. He was doing fine, no problems what so ever. “But, I think she’s taking it a lot harder than she’s letting on... Bruce disappearing isn’t easy on any of us.” He purposely chose to use the word disappearing over dying, the Teen wonder stubbornly refusing to accept that the Dark Knight was gone for good. It was one of the few things he had left to hold onto in this world, and Bruce had never given up believing in him so he wasn’t about to do the same.
“What about you? The Super family doesn’t always have it any easier, how you finding things?”

>>“I, erm, didn’t know what to wear... And...yeah... Should I go back in change? I mean, you’re all...Well....Looking beautiful and smart, and I’m looking like I’m going to a county fair.”
"Ha...you're awesome. No need for the compliments, but thanks." she smiled and shook her head as he put himself down. Seriously, why did guys do that? Then again, she suppose it was better than him being a jerk with a stuck up attitude. "It's alright, Tim. You look good. I wasn't expecting you to be all jazzed up. It's not like we're going to prom or something. Relax." she laughed a bit.
>> “Ahhh, she’s doing fine I guess...but, I think she’s taking it a lot harder than she’s letting on... Bruce disappearing isn’t easy on any of us.”
Kara nodded and she could see where he would get that assumption. She didn't know Cassandra personally and even had to fight the girl when she was drugged by Slade, but Kara didn't hold that against Cassandra since she wasn't in the right state of mind. Like everyone in the bat family, batgirl was a tough cookie and given the way she was raised, it's understandable how she wouldn't be completely open about her feelings. it wasn't just the family who was affected by Bruce's "death". Kara herself looked up to the man and respected him just as much as she respected Clark. She hoped that Bruce would return soon.
>>“What about you? The Super family doesn’t always have it any easier, how you finding things?”
Kara snorted. That was true, the Kent family definitely had their fair share of drama. "Honestly...everything has been well. I mean, Conner is back so we're happy about that..." Kara smiled. She was heartbroken when her cousin died, but was relieved when he returned to life. Conner was literally living proof that death didn't hold anyone back. And if anyone could beat it, it was The Batman. "Of course, although he probably doesn't mention it, I'm sure Clark is really missing Bruce. The sooner we find him or he comes back, the better. Kara smiled. "Just know you're not alone, Tim. I'm here to offer my assistance. If you really believe he's alive, I'll help you search and regardless, not saying that he is, but if Bruce did die, it's only a matter of time before he pops back up. Look at Conner. You thought you lost your best friend, but he's back and well. Bruce will be too.]"

“Me, Awesome? I can live with that I suppose.” Tim chuckled softly in relief, running a hand through his black hair and giving her a brief sheepish grin in return. “Sorry, I guess I’ve been a bit tightly wound lately. I just didn’t want to ruin anything you might have planned, or if you had anything in mind.”
He almost did a double take at her offer to help in his search for Bruce, something that not even the rest of the Bat family was not even willing to do. Of course he understood that he had no proof to back up that their mentor slash father was still alive, but it really bothered him that they didn’t still see it the same way he did. Bruce Wayne had to be alive. “Thanks, that means a lot... Honestly.” The sad fact was that it really did, even if she couldn’t really offer him any real help at the moment. To follow a trail to its end, you had to first know where it started, and as it stood Tim didn’t even have a clue, the chaos and confusion of the two universes colliding burying or, in some cases, completely destroying all of his leads. Outwardly he smiled and while it didn’t entirely meet his eyes, it was perhaps the closest one to a real smile he’d shown in a few months. “It is good to have Conner back, kind of weird, but in a good way, too.”
“But, I’ll find Bruce, I have to... He’s the only real family I have left beyond Dick, Cassie, and Alfred, and without him... Well, it’s falling apart. They’re falling apart. ” He again purposely refrained from commenting on his own state of affairs and how he was coping with the loss, stubbornly refusing to acknowledge that it was affecting him as much as it was. It was one of the reasons he’d been so active in his duties as a Teen Titan as of late, constantly keeping his mind focused and refusing to slow down for fear of letting his feelings actually catch up to him. Bury yourself in your work, it was what Bruce had always done, and if it was good enough for him...
Tim shook his head ruefully once more to free himself of such thoughts, sending an apologetic look to the blonde bombshell in front of him. As much as he felt guilty over doing so, he didn’t really want to spend the whole day brooding over his mentor’s fate, especially since Kara had gone out of her way to pay him a visit. “Sorry, you don’t come to listen to all that...” He rubbed his neck and cast a glance around, “Soo... I didn’t really think this through beyond meeting up, do you have anything in mind or...?”

"You're totally awesome. That whole fighting supervillains without powers thing, and only using your physical combat skills, it's impressive." the blonde replied crossing her arms. "I kind of figured you might be in need of some fun to get your mind off of things. If only for a little while. And don't worry, like I said. I'll do whatever I can to help find Bruce. He was important to me also. Two minds are better than one." She was feeling really bad for him. She knew Tim was tough, but even tough guys needed comfort and reassurance that they're not alone and have others they can depend on. Obviously the rest of his family were dealing with their own issues.] and couldn't really be there for him. So, she would be.
>>“Soo... I didn’t really think this through beyond meeting up, do you have anything in mind or...?”
"Hah, great minds think alike. I didn't plan anything either. That's more of Clark's thing. I just go with the flow." she chuckled. "I know food is always good. Maybe a movie. That's the usual first date kind of thing to do, right? Unless something else comes to mind that you'd like to do that you haven't done in awhile cause of the hero gig."

“You and me have so different definitions of the term ‘impressive’, I mean... You’re literally a super powered alien with the strength to topple Skyscrapers, while I’m just a regular kid from New Jersey.” Tim really was in awe of people like Superman, Green Lantern, and even Kara for the powers they possessed, and their drive to use them for the greater good. It would be a lie to say that he didn’t occasionally feel the odd twinge of jealousy, especially when facing down the likes of Killer Croc or Bane. Still, Bruce had never needed powers, he’d always relied on his smarts and skills to save the day, and he’d often proven to be invaluable at turning the tides midst a battle.
“Great minds think alike?” Tim smirked and allowed his hand to slide from his hair to rest on the nape of his neck, “I’m pretty sure that usually comes with the ‘fools seldom differ’ response.” He almost took yet another double take, something he had a feeling he would be doing a few more times this afternoon. First date? So this was a definitely a date now, not just two friends hanging out. A date. A date with Kara Kent. His stomach almost did a somersault before he managed to bury the nerves.
“Food is good.” He had to consciously avoid wincing at how lame that sounded in his own ears, god he was so out of practice with this kind of thing. “I mean, I’m totally open to whatever you want to do... But grabbing something to eat would be a good place to start”

"Come on, Tim. Give yourself more credit than that. Yeah, I can bash my way out of situations, but it takes real skill to battle the way you do. Not to mention, your weakness isn't a stupid green rock. Also, from what I hear, New Jersey and the people from there suck, but I don't think you do. You're cool." she gave him a light and friendly tap on the arm with her fist. Alrighty so food was on the agenda. That was good because Kara found herself getting a bit hungry. Only thing was what exactly should they eat? They could go to a fast food place, but that was sort of a cheap way to start a date. A nice sit down restaurant was in order. Luckily she read about this brand new cafe had just opened up in Jump City and she wanted to check it out. Tonight would be perfect.
"I know a cute little place I want to try out. It's a little on the expensive side though, but..you're last name is Wayne, so I know that's not a problem. Did you want to catch a cab or fly?" Kara had no problem carrying Tim to the restaurant but she figure she'd give him another option in case his manly pride was too great for him to be carried by a girl.

“Fine fine, I’m a cool, athletically gifted, brainy kid from New Jersey. Better?” Tim grinned and rolled his eyes, feeling a lot less depressed than he’d felt in days just from the few minutes he’d already spent in her company. He supposed it was just the simple fact of hanging out with someone, and while he could do that with his fellow Titans, it was refreshing to do it with someone outside of the clique. “And, in all honesty a stupid green rock as a weakness isn’t all that bad; I mean I have to worry about bullets, knives, falling from great heights, extreme temperatures, etcetera etcetera. Then again, for a supposedly rare space rock, you gotta wonder how its so easy for ever tom, dick, and harry to lay their hands on... I mean, they seem to be handing it out on the corners in Metropolis.” “I’d imagine I could manage to afford it, yeah, even with the legendary Kryptonian appetite.” Tim flashed a smirk and leant away from the girl just in case she felt like giving him another tap. He honestly had no problem with picking up a tab, it was as she said; his last name was legally Wayne, he had more than enough to cover any bills they might run up and then some by a massive margin. “And I think we better go with a cab.” He held up his hand to forestall any remarks about his ego getting in the way, being carried, girl or not, was nothing new to him due to his lack of flight capabilities. “Not for the reason you think, I just would rather keep the whole superhero and normal parts of my life separate, and flying... Well, not exactly falling into the normal part.”

"Damn right you're cool. Anyone says otherwise will get knocked across the city." she joked...kind of. It really wasn't uncommon for Kara to go out the way and knock the crap out of someone who not only offended her, but her friends and family as well. Her temper was just another thing she needed to control. Smiling at his other comments, she shook her head, especially about the selling of kryptonite at the corners. Seriously, how was a girl suppose to do her hero duties when every baddie had a green chunk ready to throw at her?
" Yep, totally understandable." she nodded when he stated that he'd rather catch a cab. "Although, I'm anything but normal, I promised Clark that I would try to blend in better with the crowd. Though they'd be there in seconds if she could just fly...then again, a nice cab ride meant more time with Tim. Hm, yes, a cab ride would suffice.
"You know I wasn't expecting you to pay for me right? I can pay for my own meals. Heck, I'll even pay for yours if you want." she smiled flipping out her cell and dialing for a cab.

“Remind me to drag you to a few bars in Gotham; there are a few villains I’d like to test that out on.” Tim smirked, knowing that she was only joking... Least, he hoped she was only joking. As much as he’d enjoy watching Kara work her Supergirl magic on the Bat Family’s collective Rogue’s Gallery, it was sort of an unwritten rule that you kept it in the aforementioned family, and dealt with all the problems yourself. Still, the image of the Joker hurtling out to sea courtesy of a well placed boot was something he’d cherish for a good while to come.
“Yes, normal is good. Well, least on the face of things. I’ve been jumping off roof tops, swinging on bat lines, and fighting way too many costumed whackjobs for a few too many years to really want a normal life, but it’s nice to appear to be... Well, at least average once and a while.” Of course he needn’t of voiced that opinion to his current companion of all people, there was very little outwardly normal about Kara Kent, even when she was trying to appear to be nothing more than Linda Lang. The Teen future-World’s greatest detective couldn’t exactly put his finger on what seemed to separate her from the crowd, beyond the fact she was a genuine alien from another planet that could quite easily kick you from one hemisphere to the next that was.
“I know you weren’t, and I know you can...” He had no qualms with paying for everything; it was one of the few perks to being richer than God, still he didn’t want to appear to be flashing his money and being one of those guys. “...I’ll tell you what, you pay for the cab and I’ll handle the cheque for dinner.” Tim trailed off as a cab pulled up, answering their order a lot faster than he’d thought possible. Then again, Jump City had a way of surprising you – sometimes good, sometimes bad – that caused it be a somewhat unique place to live. It wasn’t Gotham, but it kept you on your toes. “After you.”
He held the door to the cab open and gestured for her to enter before him. It seemed that all those years living at the Wayne Manor, not to mention those few months away at school, had caused Alfred to rub off on him, of course then again the venerable butler’s polite civility had rubbed off on most of the Bat Family to some extent. Of course, it also helped solve another issue than just pleasing his instilled sense of gentlemanly conduct, as Tim hadn’t the slightest clue of where they were heading and would have to rely on Kara to give the driver their destination.

"Hey, you know I would have no problem smashing down your villains, but I know how you guys don't like Clark and I or anyone outside your team interfering unless it's completely necessary." Kara shrugged. Yep, those bat peeps were mighty stubborn when it came to accepting outside help. Personally, she'd love to give those gotham creeps a good beat down. But of course, having your super powered alien friend fighting your battles wasn't exactly very heroic, so...yeah.
"Once and awhile. Aside from all the activities you just mentioned in crime fighting, it's in your nature to be normal and human. I'm forced to be something I'm not. And all those speeches they give in school about being yourself...and I'm forced to live like something I'm not."
"Fine with me." she smiled as he held the cab door open and slid in. Not that she expected less. Bruce and Dick were always gentleman...well, out of costume, naturally, she'd expect Tim to be the same way. She leaned forward to give the driver the directions and returned to her usual posture."Here's to a nice evening." she smiled over back to Tim and giving him a playful wink.

It wasn’t that the help wouldn’t be appreciated, they occasionally really could use the odd helping hand during some of the hairier moments that Gotham seemed to delight in throwing their ways, but the Bat Family had a certain way of doing things. Bruce’s way. It wasn’t by any means a pretty way, sometimes not even the best way, but it when t was all said and done... it worked. Besides, it was probably the same if you went to any of the cities “claimed” by the various heroes around, they wanted things done a certain way and didn’t take too kindly to others interfering with that.
Being forced to be something you weren’t. He’d never thought of it that way, then again it was as she said; he was human. Leading a double life wasn’t easy for anyone, but to also have the added stress of having to lead a life that didn’t come naturally to you... Well, the Teen Wonder wasn’t too sure if he’d be able to cope to the same level as his current companion seemed to. In many ways he had it easy he supposed, both him and Dick were the relatively well adjusted members of the family and they both had little trouble balancing their double lives – well, until recently that was – and fitting in socially. “Must be hard, not being able to relax even when you’re not fighting crime, but you don’t have to be something you’re not around me or you other friends, so there’s that, right? Besides, you seem to be adapting and fitting in a lot better than I’d probably be able to if the roles were reversed.”
“ “A nice evening?” Tim grinned as he closed the door behind her before making his way to the other side of the cab and sliding likewise into the back, shaking his head slightly in amusement as he did so. “ “Personally I’d settle for a quiet evening, I don’t think I’ve had one of those in a while, and I could do with the novelty.” There was a lot of truth behind those words, being a Titan was certainly a lot more interesting and filled with a lot more trouble than he’d remembered, especially since the merger of the two worlds sending all manner of trouble their way. It would be nice just go out and relax and not have to save the world half way through a meal for once.

"You mean my friends who aren't running around in spandex with expert martial arts skills and super powers. They're the ones I don't have to hide my heritage from. The ones at school however...I'm forced to shove lies down their throat every time I'm around them. But you're right. When I'm with you, I can really be myself. Thats one of the reasons I like you. Aside from your intelligence, dashing looks and your spirit. You never seem to allow yourself to get discouraged and you keep going no matter what the circumstances are..." " Kara smiled folding her arms across her chest and glanced through her window at the passing buildings. She was seriously getting a bit agitated with having to ride in this cab. They could have been ordering their food by now. Forcing those thoughts away, she continued with what she was saying...what was she saying? Oh yes, just how marvelous Tim Drake was. It was just something that ran in the batfamily...none of which were even related by blood accept Bruce and Damian, supposedly anyway. Aside from that brat, all the males of the batfamily seemed to have, as most earthling females would say "going on." But while they were all cute, there was a lot of baggage and shit to put up with concerning their backstories. Nothing but drama there, but whatever. Every hero's live is driven by devastation. Hell, it's the reason why most of today's heroes are active today. They failed to protect someone in their past and now they want to protect as many people as possible. Maybe that was Tim's reason? Kara wasn't completely sure and she didn't feel like prying into his history either. Lord knows dealing with Bruce's disappearance was enough. Digging up old demons might set something off.
"I get what you mean. A quiet evening would have been better. I should have brought dinner to your place..." even if that meant risking bumping into Cassie, but she'd be willing to take it for Drake. "Or mine. If Clark would allow it however. Apparently you batboys have a serious record when it comes to dating women. I figured I'd take the risk though. You're worth it. One date wouldn't hurt just to see if something would spark." she gave a nervous laughed and her cheeks flushed with red. "I like you...a lot."
