B E F O R E . T H E . D A W N
The night is darkest just before the dawn. Those were the words of Harvey Dent the last time he addressed the people of Gotham City, encouraging them to hold on to their resolve just a little while longer. His words are more important than ever now that he is no longer there to speak thanks to the murderous rampage of the once heroic Batman. Without their saviors some Gothamites are taking it upon themselves to clean up their city, donning their own masks and costumes, but there are others who see a Batmanless Gotham as a sweet opportunity. With Commissioner Gordon concentrating on finding the Bat and the Bat concentrating on evading the police, who is left to stop a new generation of villains? The Mob regains their strength with every appeal they make in court and with Maroni, Gambol, The Chechen, and Don Falcone out of the picture new bosses are stepping up to lead. The faces are new, but the situation in Gotham remains the same: the dark still reigns and there is a long way to go Before the Dawn.
