The Beyonder bored with the way the universe was decided to contact someone in the another dimension of a whole other set of universes. That someone turned out to be Darkseid going to him the two talk about how he could make his universe more fun. After hearing about this other universe Darkseid decided to trick the Beyonder into breaking a hole into the two realms. He then tried to take over the new universe thinking that with out Superman and the other hero's to get in his way this new universe would be weaker and easier to take.
As the two break a hole something horrible goes wrong it caused a explosion in the space time continuum killing the Beyonder and merging both universes, killing millions in the process as people exploded due to another version of themselves existing in the same universe, or were merged into a building or car. All around the world new cities began showing up. While the universe began to recover Darkseid spends his time at the portal, absorbing the latent energy of The Beyonder.
The sides are forming and the battle lines have been drawn. The only question left is where do you stand?
